We are incredibly grateful to Rick for the outstanding support and expertise he has provided. When a family member was in a critically vulnerable state, Rick responded at short notice and guided us through safely implementing a ketogenic diet to help stabilise their health. Over the past 13 months, we have worked with him regularly for several members of our family. He has been consistently available, liaised directly with hospital consultants, and supported communication with our GP to ensure appropriate and safe care during critical periods of metabolic instability. Rick has an exceptional understanding of complex health situations and combines a functional approach with sound medical knowledge. He is highly knowledgeable, compassionate, and trustworthy. Having him on our team has made an enormous difference, and we are deeply grateful for his guidance and support. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

I was luck enough to work with and learn from Rick over several months and so grateful I did! Rick did an amazing job personalising nutrition and goals specific for me... and he goes WAY above and beyond. I travel a lot for work and Rick would look at the menus of the restaurants I was going to and help suggest healthy meals (amazing!). Over the course of the time working with Rick I achieved my goals, feel better (physically and mentally) and learned a ton. Rick is a wealth of information and delivered information in very digestible/actionable ways (with other nutritionists I've felt almost intimidated/overwhelmed). I'm incredibly lucky to have learned from Rick and 100000000% recommend him to anyone looking to benefit from a great, approachable, sympathetic and amazing nutritionist/coach. Thanks Rick and looking forward to connecting soon!

I cannot overstate the impact Rick has had on my life. After more than two years of ongoing frustration with the NHS and no meaningful progress in diagnosing my gastrointestinal issues, Rick introduced an exclusion diet that delivered almost immediate results, identifying specific dietary triggers. As someone who values a clear understanding of cause and effect, I have particularly appreciated Rick’s ability to explain, in depth, the physiological mechanisms at play. His expertise has significantly deepened my understanding and enabled me to take the necessary steps toward restoring my health.

Rick worked with me over several months providing dietary advice to overcome gastrointestinal issues. We tuned my diet to calm my system and then adjusted it so I could improve my cycling and running performance. Rick is sympathetic to lifestyle - he helped me uncover hidden triggers that created inflammation and discomfort, while letting me enjoying the things I enjoy. His data rich approach helped me develop a tool kit to manage my diet independently and with confidence. Highly recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a private dietitian do?

A private dietitian is a qualified healthcare professional who assesses, diagnoses and manages nutrition-related conditions using evidence-based dietary strategies.

Dietitians work with individuals to improve health outcomes through tailored nutrition plans. This may include managing digestive disorders, metabolic conditions such as diabetes or high cholesterol, weight changes related to illness or hospitalisation, and providing specialist nutrition support for complex clinical situations such as neurological injury, malnutrition, or enteral and parenteral feeding (including nasogastric feeding, PEG feeding and TPN).

In private practice, dietitians typically provide one-to-one consultations, develop personalised nutrition plans and work alongside other healthcare professionals such as GPs, consultants and physiotherapists.

Do I need a referral to see a dietitian?

Most private dietitian consultations do not require a referral, and patients can book an appointment directly.

However, some individuals are referred by their GP, consultant or other healthcare professional when nutrition support is needed as part of managing a medical condition.

In these cases the dietitian may review medical records, blood test results or clinical reports to develop a tailored nutrition plan.

Private consultations are available both in person and via secure online appointments.

What is the difference between a dietitian and a nutritionist?

In the UK, the title dietitian is legally protected and dietitians must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Dietitians are trained healthcare professionals who can assess, diagnose and treat nutrition-related medical conditions using evidence-based dietary interventions.

The title nutritionist is not legally protected in the same way, and the level of training can vary significantly.

While many nutritionists provide helpful lifestyle and dietary guidance, only registered dietitians are regulated healthcare professionals qualified to manage clinical nutrition conditions within healthcare settings.

Consultations Available in London and Internationally

Appointments are available in central London and via secure online consultation.

I also work with clients internationally and am based between London and Gibraltar.
